Conference topics

General information

The conference program extends over two days. The program starts at 10.00 am on Dec. 9 (including an evening session), and finishes at 4.00 pm on Dec. 10. Participation is open for PhD students and senior researchers from the Nordic countries. The conference language is English, but presentations may also be given in Swedish. Invited specialists will hold Sessions with presentations, and PhD students will present their projects. Contributions: Contributed papers within the conference topics listed above are invited. A one-page abstract should be submitted by Nov. 5, 1999. Group work will be organised around topics of interest for the future directions of research and graduate education in materials science.

The Brinell Centre

The Brinell Centre is a strategic research centre co-ordinating research in materials science in the Stockholm area. Research and graduate education is conducted by 10 member institutions and 2 research institutes in close collaboration with industry. The Brinell Centre Graduate School engages more than 50 PhD students in different research programmes:

Conference fee: 2500 SEK.

Conference documentation, meals, and accommodation for one night are included. Fee without overnight accommodation: 1500 SEK (due to the evening session, staying overnight is recommended).
